What Does It All Mean?

Clownin' Around
The Cult of Cornix

After some failed attempts at stealing an owlbear, the party makes their way to Gaiete in hopes of finding the group who killed Bing's mom, Prisca.  Upon arriving, the Fool's Carnival is in full swing.  Once they enter the gates, a small jester, Cecil appears, insults each of them and beats Bing in a lute-off before Bing insults him enough to get him to leave.  Walking through the city, they buy food, and each member, save Bing, thinks they see someone very familiar only to be mistaken.  The group splits up.  Magnolia plays games in hopes of winning a large stuffed lamb and after several attempts, and terrifying the vender, she succeedes. Bing manages to sneak his way into a group of clowns in hope of finding either the man with the crow tattoo or find out where tattoos are done in the city.  In these attempts, he winds up on stage and wows the crowd with his mopping skills.  Soon after, he manages to impress everyone, even the actual circus people with his acrobatics and tightrope walking, flipping circles all around them.  Through a clown named Mark, he learns of Cas, an old gnome who's be in town for a good long while and might know what he's looking for.  The group find the gnome drinking at the Bronze Cat Tavern and learns about the Anders Company, a circus group that, after some unexplained incident was shoved into the back of the city during the Carnival.  Cas refers to them as a creepy cult and they go to find it.  The group arrives at a large black and blue tent and peaks inside, seeing a group dressed as crows listening to another one standing on a platform.  Bing, Magnolia, and Thalia, lie and deceive their way into the circle and learn about the cult, their god, Cornix, their leader, Corvo and the opposing goddess, Qara.  After a wild magic mishap, Thalia notices that Cecil was sitting in the far back of the tent in the stands.  The group of cultists leave along with the three and walk to some ruins where a large crow-man statue sits.  The statue moves revealing stairs as the cult members walk downwards.

Visiting Home

After defeating Tarben and waking Zane from his accidental sleep via door, the treasure room door is opened and everyone collects, especially Gart and his table.  Enter Ricki, Bing's friend and bandmate from back home.  He tells Bing that Forba has some information for him about his clown search.  The group leaves including Hiln who decides to stay with Zane as he tries to rebuild the Lazy Hound.  The party makes their trek to Oaken Hollow.  One night Gart has a dream about a red figure with wings saying, "you'll do".  Upon arriving in the rather large forest town, the group  makes their way to the Dragon's Knuckle Tavern.  There they meet Forba who physically belittle Bing for running off without telling him anything then gives him some info about the Fool's Carnival up in Gaiete.  Every year huge numbers of people head up there and a good number dress and act like clowns.  But before they can leave, Forba tells them of a little bear problem they need to deal with first.  The group discovers it's actually owlbears instead and after several  near death experiences, they kill the two.  Lo and behold there was another that followed them and attacks right after they meet back up with Forba.  He flips it and decides to keep it as a pet and call it Buttercup.

Bing's Totally a Dwarf
Bandits in Bredon

Thalia, the Dragonborn, introduces herself to the group and decides to help them take out the bandits.  Upon entering the castle, they find the kitchen and a dwarven woman who is just as surprised to see them as them her.  She throws a knife at Magnolia and Gart throws Bing who convinces her that he's her son.  The dwarf, Hiln, beileves Bing is her thought to be dead son, Reuben who she thought was lost along with her husband in the Dagnal mining explosion.  She tells the group all she knows and even feeds them and helps to find the keys to the boss, Tarben's room.  Finding the keys in the dungeon, they also find a body which looks suspiciously like Earl but isn't and Bing puts coppers on his eyes.  They return upstairs to find that all bandits in the place have left except for whoever is behind the big metal door.  Bing disguises himself as Hiln and goes inside to inform Tarben about food.  Gart bursts in and Bing quickly tells Tarben that this is his son and a cook.  With the help of Magnolia, it works and Bing begins the fight by surprising the orc in the room.  Tarben throws out a badger and boar from a pouch to assist in his fight.  Gart eventually grabs ahold of him and Thalia burns him with her breath.  Surprisingly enough, Zane wasn't seen during the confrontation because he was accidentally hit with the door when Gart charged in.

Job's Not Done Yet
Bandits in Bredon

Having infiltrated the group of bandits who've been harassing Bredon, Bing is introduced to the group as Jack, the new recruit.  After accidentally sounding like an undercover cop, he leads a few of them past the corner where the party awaits.  All bandits but one are killed and a long tunnel is discovered under the cave with a large metal door blocking the way forward.  As they are about to leave, a man appears through the opening of the cave wearing a "Hello, my name is Jack" nametag.  Thinking on his feet, Gart throws the head of the largest bandit at him, knocking him unconscious.  Bing leaves two copper on his eyes and the group leaves the woods.  They make their way back to town and spot smoke rising from the outpost.  Running back they discover it was the bar that had been burned to the ground and Zane breaks down.  Discovering it was the bandits through a message written in Orcish, the party follows footprints heading off east.  Zane, having potentially lost his uncle and only family, changes gears completely, no longer upbeat and optimistic but angry and cold.  As they discover the ruined castle that the bandits seem to be using as a hideout, they find a Dragonborn, (or furry as Magnolia calls it) standing in front of the castle over two smoldering piles of ash.

Thrush Woods
Bandits in Bredon

Moving through the woods, something glitters from a pile of wood and Gart goes to investigate.  Upon getting stuck to the pile, an ettercap falls from the canopy and latches itself to Gart.  Bing yells at it calling it an "ugly pear" and is even thrown at it, many feet up a tree.  It is killed when Gart tears it apart.  Through sheer luck, the group stumbles upon the location of the bandit hideout when Zane leans against a rock covered by an illusion.  Thinking the group could have had something to do with the murder of his mother, Bing dresses like a clown with perfect makeup and everything and sits among the bandits all of which are confused about a small clown appearing amongst them.  When it looks like he's about to be killed, he convinces them he's a new recruit.

The Meetup
Prologue

After running away for several days from home, Magnolia is attacked by a wolf and saved by Gart.  Gart manages to scare her off by accidentally slinging the wolf carcass at her.  She also ends up hitting him with sacred flame.  Hearing the commotion, Bing arrives and meets Gart and the two go and find Magnolia on the ground after she hit a tree both physically and magically.  They take her with them and swap stories of why they're there.  The group eventually ends up at the Bredon Outpost and makes there way inside except Magnolia who stays outside.  They see a group harassing the bartender and his nephew before leaving.  It turns out the nephew, Zane had been messing with them due to their harassment of the town.  His uncle, Earl had been very against it at the risk of Zane being killed or worse.  Earl finally notices the group and invites them in and explains the current issues.  The two agree to help out and are overheard by Zane who wants to go with them.  Of course his uncle says no but the group tries to take him with them and are promptly asked to leave.  At this time Magnolia enters the bar and begins to try to talk to Zane, starting with dead mother talk.  A little put off by the suddenness of the conversation, Zane goes to clean another table.  Feeling very offended at this unintended rudeness, Magnolia full on decks the kid sending him flying across the bar.  Silence fills the bar until a man in the back yells out, "BAR FIGHT!!!" and chaos ensues.  Hearing the noise, Gart and Bing reenter the tavern to see the chaos and join right in.  Gart throws Bing, who hits several patrons before being caught by Earl and is used to chase people out of the bar.  Gart tackles Earl, smashing through 3 walls and hits a tree.  Seeing the newfound opportunity, Zane grabs his stuff, and Gart grabs all in the party and bolts for the woods where the bandits are said to be located.  The group enters the woods in search of the bandit hideout.  They soon are cornered by 2 spiders, who are killed rather easily.
